Volunteer

There are so many different ways to volunteer:
Construction - We are currently building homes in Florence and Montague City.
Committees - Event planning, building, faith relations, public relations, site selection, family support, family selection.
Office - We often need volunteers to help with mailings, administrative and computer work and other tasks around the office.

How would you like to be involved?

New Volunteers

Haven't volunteered with us before? All new volunteers must attend a Volunteer Orientation. They are held regularly on the first Wednesday of the month at 7:30pm and the third Saturday at 9am at our office in Florence. To register, please go to Volunteer Up, create an account and sign up for whichever day works for you.

Returning Volunteers

You do not need to attend another Volunteer Orientation. If you are interested in building, please sign up for an available build day on Volunteer Up. If the day is full, you can add your name to the waitlist. If you are not signed up to work on Volunteer Up you will not be allowed on the work site that day.

Construction

We welcome skilled or unskilled volunteers, youth, retirees and anyone in between! If you are a skilled volunteer and would like to take on more of a leadership role, you might consider becoming a Crew Leader. Please contact us for more information and to learn about upcoming Crew Leader Trainings.

Anyone over the age of 14 is welcome to volunteer as part of a group or as an individual. However, they must be accompanied by an adult on the work site and there are some project restrictions that apply. We encourage youth to work on Sundays which is a shorter day - 12-4pm.

Groups

If you would like to bring together a group from your church, your school etc. to work at a build site, please deignate someone as the "group leader". The group leader must attend a volunteer orientation. Then they can sign up for a work day that says either “Sign Up!” or “Need Group”. In Volunteer Up please register the name of the group leader plus guests (the number of people in your group). Please do not sign up for a day that says “Full”.

If you are part of a group that has already signed up for a work day, please do not sign yourself up for the day individually.

Youth Groups

Youth groups should not be more than 8 youths with 1 adult for each 4 youths. Youths must bring signed waiver forms to the site. If you have any questions about this, please email or call our office at (413) 586-5430.
